Meeting & Departure Points

Please note that our tours depart from two different locations in Cooya Beach. Please ensure you arrive at the correct meeting point for your booked tour.

📍Traditional Hunting Tours: Beach side of 1 Palm Street, Cooya Beach QLD 4873 (to the right of the basketball court).

📍Educational Tours: Northern end of Cooya Beach, at the public toilet area next to the boat ramp.

Important:
Please contact Kuku Yalanji Cultural Habitat Tours at least 48 hours prior to your tour to confirm your exact departure time. We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes before your scheduled departure to allow for check-in.

We kindly ask that all personal belongings be secured in a locked vehicle, as our tours operate in public areas. Please note that we cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to personal items.

Toilets: There are no toilet facilities at the tour site. Public restrooms are available at the northern end of Cooya Esplanade, just a short drive from the tour departure point.
Parking: Parking is available on the beach side, beneath large, shaded trees.

We operate in all weather conditions and will only cancel in the event of thunder and lightning, or road closures due to natural disasters.

Bring: Guests are advised to bring their own medications, cameras, filled water bottles, sunscreen and insect repellent.
If you have allergies and require an EpiPen, you must bring your own, as we do not supply them.

Wear: We recommend wearing beach/reef shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for walking through water, mudflats, and mangroves.
Please also consider sun protection, such as a hat and sunscreen. Ponchos are advised if rainy weather.
